I Want A Website: 3 Powerful Tips To Get You Started

If you’re a perfectionist and a little introverted, getting your first website up might be freaking you out. (that’s just a story, don’t worry.)

Sometimes our head can take over and we can overthink this project to death. So I want to give you three simple decision-making tips that will give you the foundation for your web project and a solid mindset.

1. DECIDE IF YOU WANT TO DO IT YOURSELF (DIY) OR HIRE SOMEONE
You can play in this grey area for a while. So I’m challenging you to decide. Especially if you’re just starting out. It’s tempting to DIY only to find out that halfway through, you’re not diggin’ it.

Is it a hobby or a business? You want to impress your clients. You want to show people who you are, what you love and how you can help. Now imagine expressing and sharing yourself fully. What would that look like to you?

Decide right now. What are you going to do?

2. COMMIT TO A DEADLINE
Most people procrastinate because they are not excited about their website and don’t have a plan. They are letting the stories in their head take over. Ask yourself, where are you not committing in other areas of your life?

And then there are some people who make it happen. (like you!)

If you are not an extrovert, an oversharer, and hate being the center of attention, this tip is even more important. Because not connecting and hiding your talents is not an option. Committing empowers you to take action. Share your intention.

So, do you want your website up before the new year?

3. KNOW THYSELF
Sabotaging beliefs will start to surface and slow you down if let them. You’ll start to panic and tell yourself you’re not ready.

What will you regret not doing at the end of your life? Is it a website? Of course not. It’s what happens when you do have a tool, like a website. You’ll be able to express yourself and connect with people who get you. It’s pushing past the fears and doing it anyways.

Believe you are good enough as you are right now. (because you are)

Decide. Commit. Know.

Make a decision. Pick a date. Do not to let time, perfectionism, or lack of confidence be the reason you put it off for another year.
